Executive Strategy Lead (Office of the CEO)

The Executive Strategy Lead (Office of the CEO) plays a critical enterprise role driving strategy, insight, and executive alignment at the highest levels of the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, this position sits within the office of the CEO and serves as a force multiplier for executive leadership. The role orchestrates executive cadence, drives rigorous preparation for leadership forums, synthesizes critical insights, and ensures commitments made by the CEO and his direct reports translate into action and results. By improving clarity, accountability, and decision quality at the top of the organization, this role directly enhances enterprise execution. This is not an administrative coordination role. It is an executive business operations position designed to elevate leadership effectiveness, reinforce performance discipline, and strengthen organizational follow-through on the company’s most important strategic and operational priorities. This position is based in Waltham, MA and requires a minimum of 4 days a week in the office.

Your Role, Your Impact

Executive Operating Rhythm & Leadership Governance

  • Establish and continuously optimize the operating cadence of the Office of the CEO, including leadership forums, executive reviews, and strategic discussions.
  • Ensure leadership engagements are structured to drive alignment, clear decision-making, and forward momentum on enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with the CEO and CSO to shape agendas, elevate critical issues, and ensure leadership time is focused on the most impactful topics.

Enterprise Accountability & Execution Oversight

  • Drive enterprise-level accountability across leadership commitments, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional priorities.
  • Implement structured tracking and governance mechanisms that ensure commitments are clearly defined, progress is transparent, and execution risks are surfaced early.
  • Partner with leaders to resolve blockers and escalate issues with recommended paths to resolution when necessary.

Executive Meeting Effectiveness & Decision Support

  • Strengthen the effectiveness of CEO and senior leadership forums by ensuring discussions are well-prepared, outcome-driven, and aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Capture and synthesize key decisions, risks, and actions, translating leadership discussions into clear execution plans and ensuring appropriate follow-through across the organization.
  • Strategic Partner & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Support the CEO’s engagement with key external partners and strategic stakeholders by ensuring internal alignment, strong preparation, and disciplined follow-through.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs to maximize the effectiveness and outcomes of CEO-level engagements and ensure commitments are executed across the organization.

Executive Insight & Leadership Briefing

  • Provide the CEO with concise, high-quality insights by reviewing leadership and divisional materials to identify performance trends, risks, opportunities, and decision points.
  • Develop executive-ready briefs that distill complex information into clear narratives and highlight areas requiring leadership attention.
  • Monitor and engage in market intel and provide reporting the CEO.

CEO Business Review Governance

  • Lead the preparation and execution of enterprise business reviews with the CEO, ensuring inputs from business units and leadership teams are decision-ready and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Produce consolidated executive summaries and oversee follow-through on key actions and outcomes.

Executive Decision Governance

  • Strengthen decision discipline across the leadership team by maintaining clear documentation of major decisions, ownership, and evolving context.
  • Promote consistency in executive communication, decision transparency, and expectation-setting across leadership forums.
  • Explore AI tools to improve workflow and outputs

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting senior executives or working closely with C-suite leadership.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect industry trends, performance data, and strategic implications.
  • Experience within the oil & gas industry with demonstrated understanding of industry trends, operating models, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders, surface hard truths, and drive clarity in fast-paced challenging environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation development.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and drive clarity in ambiguous environments.
  • High degree of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
  • Service-oriented mindset with the maturity to push when needed.
  • Financial fluency and strong business curiosity.
  • Exposure to and basic understanding of energy futures markets.
  • Understanding of policy impacts to business.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking by asking insightful questions, identifying gaps in logic, and effectively preparing leaders for productive engagements with the CEO.
  • Highly curious and quick to learn; proactive, dependable and results driven. Brings humility and accountability, thrives in ambiguity, adapts under pressure, and is motivated by impact.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Pay Range

$136,200.00 - $204,200.00

The pay range for this position is outlined above. The final amount offered at the start of employment is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
