  Application Analyst – Fuel Dispatching & Pricing            

Overview:

Ever wonder how the price of a gallon of fuel is calculated?   How does a truck of diesel arrive at the station?  Interested in understanding the daily impact of commodity markets?  At Global Partners, an Application Analyst learns the answers to these questions and builds technologies to improve daily outcomes.  Serving as the face of IT for a business unit, successful candidates are hands-on technologist with high business acumen and experience in recognizing needs, designing, developing and launching solutions.

This position focuses on technologies and processes enabling our Fuel Dispatching & Pricing business. A strong interest in supply chain technologies and commodity or financial markets is desired.  Experience in the Energy Industry is not needed.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with requirement gathering, technology design and support

Responsibilities:

System Analysis, Design & Support

  • Participate in solution design to enhance applications, reports and business operations 
  • Work with peers, clients and 3rd party developers to meet business outcomes
  • Provide technical support, including ad hoc after-hours and weekends
  • Write scripts, configure applications and workflows to resolve incidents or enhance solutions
  • Build an expert level technical understanding of in-scope applications, data and processes

Business Analysis

  • Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and process, when appropriate, recommend enhancements 
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional and technical requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers and project team.
  • Create user documentation and provide training to end users for enhancements

Project Management

  • In collaboration with stakeholders, assist in definition of project scope, deliverables, timelines
  • Track and communicate the status of deliverables throughout the project lifecycle

Formal Education & Certification

  • Required:  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical experience
  • Preferred: Certifications in one or more of the following disciplines:  Business Analysis, Application or Infrastructure Design, Development, Administration or Support, ITIL, Six Sigma, Project Management
