Job Description

We are hiring for a Director of Business Development who will be responsible for developing strategic business plans and cultivate new business opportunities for our Gas Distribution and Station Operations (GDSO) team. We offer a flexible work environment. This means working up to 2 days a week remotely and the rest of the time in the office. This position reports to the Vice President of Strategy and Controls.

“Gauges” of Responsibility  

  • Develop and grow customer relationships to create incremental business value.
  • Plan, coordinate, executive and manage (end to end work stream) on Business Development opportunities.
  • Facilitate effective working relationship between the sales team and CRM (Sugar) – identify team concerns and needs and ensure that the CRM is reflecting the business needs.
  • Collaborate with Retail leaders to identify and develop business leads with Sugar.
  • Liaison with numerous fuel brands on new business pipeline sales for the respective brand.
  • Utilize public and private data sets (i.e. Opis) to ensure that CRM is reflecting viable targets for new business market penetration.
  • Identify and facilitate our partnerships with Co-Brands (i.e. Quick service restaurants like Aroma Joes, Subway etc.) and our non-traditional 3rd party business partners (i.e. cell phone antennas).
  • Negotiate business terms and play a key role in the due diligence process along with Legal team.
  • Continually engage GDSO teams cross functionally to support the evaluation and development of the Company’s long-term strategic plan.
  • Develop an understanding of GDSO capabilities and assets to identify and model synergies for acquisition target.
  • Prepare packets and presentations for GDSO Senior Team to review but not limited to goals, timing projections, business requirements and risk projections.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years’ experience in the corporate strategic planning, oil and gas industry a plus.
  • Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions required.
  • Industry experience in retail, franchise, quick service restaurant business development.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Approximately 25% regional travel.

Education Requirement

  • College education, MBA preferred
